The brief
BrightFire produces content destined for a global streaming platform, where delivery specifications and deadlines are fixed. We built and supported the network, storage and post-production environment the productions ran on.
The constraints
- Streaming-platform deliveries carry firm technical specifications and immovable delivery dates.
- Several editors and finishing operators needed to work from the same media pool at the same time.
- Rushes had to move from production into post quickly and without manual copying between drives.
- Completed material needed protected, retrievable archive rather than shelved drives.
How we approached it
Sized for concurrency
The core and storage were specified for the number of simultaneous high-bitrate streams the schedule demanded, not for a best-case single user.
Ingest to archive as one path
A defined route from camera media through ingest, proxy, edit, finishing and archive, so nobody improvised with portable drives.
Protected work in progress
Redundancy on active storage and a backup regime with tested restores, because a lost day is a missed delivery.
Support during delivery weeks
Onsite and on-call technical cover concentrated where the risk actually sits — the final weeks of each delivery.
