The brief

SIC Entertainment moved into new Randburg offices. We planned and executed the technology side of the move: a complete build at the new premises, a controlled shutdown at the old one, and a business that opened on Monday able to work.

The constraints

  • A live business cannot pause while its infrastructure moves.
  • The new premises needed a full technology build — cabling, network, Wi-Fi, servers and workstations — ready before anyone arrived.
  • Equipment had to be accounted for, moved and reinstalled without losses or surprises.
  • Creative and production workstations carry more setup detail than ordinary office desks.

How we approached it

Build first, move second

The new site was cabled, networked and tested before a single desk moved, so relocation day was a move rather than an installation.

Asset register and chain of custody

Everything tagged, recorded and signed for on both ends of the move.

Weekend cutover with checkpoints

A sequenced plan with rollback points, executed outside working hours.

First-week floor support

Engineers onsite once staff arrived, because the real snag list only appears when people start working.
